Inventory sources Beta
Sync the cars on your WordPress dealer site, with or without WooCommerce
Most dealer sites on WordPress do not use WooCommerce: the cars live in a theme's own content type, with the make, mileage and price in custom fields or taxonomies. MotorHangar Connect looks at how YOUR site stores them, shows you sample values from your own cars, and lets you match each field once. From then on, every car you add, edit, sell or delete in WordPress follows on MotorHangar.
How it works
Install MotorHangar Connect and open Settings → MotorHangar Connect → Where are your cars?
Pick the content type that holds your cars; the plugin lists every field and taxonomy it finds with sample values from your last 20 cars, and offers a starting point for Motors or ACF sites.
Match make, model, year, price, mileage and photos (plus anything else you have) and check the live preview of three cars with the reasons any would be rejected.
Paste your API key. Saving a car sends it in the background, and a nightly check catches anything missed and marks as sold only the cars that really left your site.
What syncs
- Cars from Motors, ACF-based setups or any custom post type, matched by stock number or post ID
- Price, mileage, photos (featured image plus gallery) and the sold mark you already use
- Deleted, trashed or unpublished cars, withdrawn from MotorHangar
Limitations
- Beta: the Motors starting point follows Motors' public documentation and has not been checked against a live Motors site yet; the discovery screen highlights anything your site does not have.
- A field with several values (two makes, two years) is never guessed: that car is held back with the reason.
- One direction only: changes made on MotorHangar do not go back to WordPress.
Questions about WordPress (Motors, ACF, custom post types)
My site uses the Motors theme. Does it work?
Yes, as a starting point: choose the Motors preset and the plugin pre-fills the usual Motors fields. Rows your site doesn't actually have are shown in red so you can pick the right field.
Do I need WooCommerce or ACF?
Neither. ACF fields are recognised when ACF is installed, but plain custom fields and taxonomies work too.
What if my cars are on a site that isn't WordPress?
Use an inventory feed instead: give us the address of the file your site or provider already produces.
Will installing it change anything on my site?
No. It only reads your cars and stores its own sync status next to each one.
