Inventory sources Beta

Sync your car inventory from a CSV, XML, JSON or Google Sheets feed

Most dealer websites, DMSs and inventory providers already publish the stock as a file somewhere, often to feed other portals. Give MotorHangar that address — or a Google Sheet — and we read it every few hours, with the same rules as the spreadsheet import. You see the columns we found and how your first cars would look before anything is published.

How it works

  1. In Inventory feed, paste the file's address (CSV, Excel, JSON, XML or a Google Sheet shared by link), or upload a sample if your provider will send the file to us instead.

  2. We list the columns we found and guess which is the make, model, mileage, price and photos; you fix anything we got wrong and can set fixed values, such as the currency.

  3. A preview shows how the first cars would look and why any of them would be rejected. Nothing is published until you save.

  4. We read the file every 1 to 24 hours. An unchanged file changes nothing; a provider can also POST it to your private push address whenever it changes.

What syncs

  • Every car in the file, matched by your stock number: new ones added, price, mileage and photos updated
  • Spanish, English and Portuguese values such as Gasolina, Mecánica or Seminuevo, and numbers like 18.500,00 or 45,000 km
  • Cars that leave the file, marked as sold only when the drop is believable

Limitations

  • New: built and tested, not yet proven with a dealer's live feed.
  • Values we don't recognise are not guessed: that car is listed with the reason and not published.
  • Files up to 10 MB and 5,000 cars. Private and local network addresses are refused.

Questions about Scheduled feed (CSV, XML or Google Sheets)

Which formats does it read?

CSV or TSV with any separator, Excel (.xlsx), JSON with a list of cars anywhere in it, and XML where each car is a repeated element. Google Sheets work when shared as “Anyone with the link”.

Will a broken export delete my listings?

No. A download that fails changes nothing. A file that suddenly brings far fewer cars than you have on sale is treated as a broken export: what it brings is updated and nothing is marked as sold.

My provider already sends my stock to other portals. Can it send it to MotorHangar?

Ask them to add MotorHangar as a destination and give them the private push address from your Inventory feed page. They POST the whole file there; no API key is needed.

What if the file mixes my columns in another language?

You map each column once in the preview. We remember the mapping and use it on every read.
