Inventory sources Beta
Publish your PrestaShop car stock on MotorHangar
MotorHangar for PrestaShop is a module for PrestaShop 1.7.8 and later. It sends a product to MotorHangar when you save it or its stock changes, and runs a full reconciliation from a daily cron URL. It works in one direction only: the shop is the source, and nothing on MotorHangar is written back into it.
How it works
Download the module and upload it in Modules → Module Manager → Upload a module, then click Configure.
Create an API key in your MotorHangar dealer panel and paste it under Connection. Test connection fills in your market.
Choose which products to publish, whether each car's MotorHangar id is the product ID or the reference, and what happens when stock reaches 0.
Map each field — brand, model, year, version, mileage, fuel, transmission, colour, condition, city — to a product feature, the manufacturer, a fixed value, or nothing.
Call the cron URL shown on the configuration page once a day, for example from your server's crontab.
What syncs
- The final price, with or without taxes, in the shop's default currency
- Product images, cover first, up to 10, in the image size you choose
- The short description, or the long one when it is empty, without HTML
- Stock at 0: sold, withdrawn or nothing, as you configure it
- Deleted or deactivated products: withdrawn, not sold
- Common Spanish and English words for fuel, gearbox and condition (gasolina, mecánica, seminuevo…), recognised out of the box
Limitations
- Beta: built and tested, not yet proven in a dealer's live shop.
- It is downloaded from MotorHangar; it is not listed on PrestaShop Addons.
- In a multistore, each shop needs its own API key, market and cron.
- Products without brand, model, year, price or enough photos are not sent; the product's MotorHangar tab says what is missing.
Questions about PrestaShop
Do I need product features for the car data?
They are the usual source — a feature “Model” with the value “RAV4”, “Year” with “2019” — but the brand can come from the manufacturer, and any field can be a fixed value, such as the city of a one-branch dealer.
What if I change a product's reference later?
Nothing breaks. Once a car has been accepted, its MotorHangar id is frozen in the module's table, so changing the reference never turns one car into two.
Does it slow down saving a product?
The call is made at the end of the request — after the response, on PHP-FPM — with a 10-second limit. If it fails, the product is marked pending and the daily cron sends it. Saving more than 20 products at once goes straight to the cron.
My shop writes mileage in kilometres, but the market uses miles.
Set the mileage unit in the configuration and it is converted. A value that states its own unit, like “45,000 mi”, wins.
What happens if I uninstall the module?
Its table and settings are removed. Your cars stay on MotorHangar; withdraw them from the dealer panel first if you want them gone.
Product names belong to their owners. MotorHangar is not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and none of these integrations is listed in their app stores or marketplaces.
