Import your car inventory from Excel or CSV
If your stock lives in a spreadsheet, you are one upload away from listing it. MotorHangar reads an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file with one car per row, checks every row against our model catalog before anything is published, and matches each car by your own stock number, so the next upload updates your listings instead of duplicating them.
How it works
Create a free dealer account and open Import inventory in your dealer panel.
Download the template, or use your own file with the same column names in the first row.
Fill one row per car: id, brand, model, year, price, mileage and at least three public photo URLs separated by |.
Click Check file. Nothing changes yet: you get every row that needs fixing, with its row number and the reason.
Click Import. Photos are downloaded in the background and each car goes live once it has three.
What syncs
- Brand, model, year and version, matched against our catalog
- Price, in your local currency or in USD
- Mileage, in your market's unit (kilometres or miles)
- Fuel, transmission, colour, condition and city
- Up to 10 photos per car, downloaded from your URLs
- Optionally, the cars missing from the new file are marked as sold
Limitations
- Up to 500 cars and 2 MB per file.
- It is not automatic: your listings change when you upload a new file.
- The import is all or nothing: one broken row stops the file, so a half-imported stock never goes live.
- Photos must be public URLs; images pasted inside the spreadsheet cannot be read.
Questions about Excel / CSV upload
Does it work with Google Sheets?
Yes. Download the sheet as .xlsx or .csv (File → Download) and upload that file. Reading a published sheet automatically every few hours is the scheduled feed, which is planned.
What happens to the cars I sold since my last upload?
Tick “Mark as sold the imported cars that are not in this file” when you upload. Only cars that came from a spreadsheet are touched: cars you published by hand or through a plugin stay as they are.
Why was a row rejected?
Usually a brand or model that is not in our catalog, a fuel or transmission outside your market's list, or fewer than three photos. Check file tells you the row and the reason before anything is imported.
Can my CSV use semicolons?
Yes. Commas and semicolons both work, so a CSV saved by a European or Latin American Excel is fine as it is.
