Automation and API Beta
Connect MotorHangar to Zapier with Webhooks by Zapier
There is no MotorHangar app in Zapier yet. What works today is Zapier's own Webhooks by Zapier action, which sends an HTTP request to our API with your key: enough to publish or update a car when a row changes in a sheet, or to mark it as sold. A native app with its own triggers is planned, not built.
How it works
Create an API key in your MotorHangar dealer panel.
In your Zap, add the action Webhooks by Zapier → Custom Request.
Set the method and URL, for example PUT https://motorhangar.com/api/v1/vehicles/{id}, and a header Authorization with Bearer and your mh_ key.
Put the car in the data field as JSON, with at least brand, model, year, price and three photo URLs.
For new leads, a Schedule by Zapier trigger plus a GET request to /leads?since= works until native triggers exist.
What syncs
- Create and update cars from Google Sheets, Airtable or a form
- Mark cars as sold or withdraw them
- Read new leads by polling
Limitations
- Works today through a generic action: there are no native MotorHangar triggers or actions in Zapier.
- Webhooks by Zapier is only available on Zapier's paid plans.
- No instant lead trigger until outgoing webhooks exist.
Questions about Zapier
Can I find MotorHangar in Zapier's app directory?
No. There is no native Zapier app yet; it is planned. Use Webhooks by Zapier with our API in the meantime.
Which Zapier plan do I need?
Webhooks by Zapier is a premium app, so a paid Zapier plan. If you'd rather not pay for that, n8n's community node or Make's HTTP module call the same API.
How do I stop a Zap from duplicating cars?
Always put your own stock id in the URL (PUT /vehicles/{id}). Sending the same id again updates the car instead of creating a new one, so a Zap that runs twice is harmless.
Product names belong to their owners. MotorHangar is not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and none of these integrations is listed in their app stores or marketplaces.
