Terms of service
These terms apply to anyone who uses MotorHangar, which is run by The01Company. By creating an account or posting a car you accept them. If you don't, please don't use those parts of the site.
What MotorHangar is
Two things in one site: car data (specifications, fuel economy, crash-test ratings, recalls and owner complaints, gathered from official public sources) and classified listings where people and dealers post cars for sale. MotorHangar is not a party to any sale. Buyers and sellers deal with each other directly.
The car data
- Every figure shows its source and the country or programme it comes from. A rating or recall from one region may not apply to a car sold in another.
- We take care to copy official data correctly, but sources make mistakes and change. The data is for information, not a guarantee. Before you buy, check recalls with the manufacturer or an official dealer using the car's VIN, and have the car inspected.
Your account
- You must be an adult under the law of your country and give true information.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account. Keep your password private; if you think someone else has used your account, change it.
- Dealers: the business details you enter (tax ID, licence, address) are shown as you declared them. MotorHangar does not verify them, and buyers are told so.
- You can delete your account at any time at /account/delete/.
Posting a car
- Posting is free. MotorHangar never asks a buyer or a seller to pay to see, contact or post a listing; anyone who does is not us.
- You may only post a car you have the right to sell, with real photos of that car and an honest description, price, mileage and condition.
- Not allowed: stolen or non-existent vehicles, misleading prices or photos, duplicate listings of the same car, content that's illegal, offensive or infringes someone else's rights, and personal data of other people.
- You keep ownership of your photos and texts. By posting them you allow MotorHangar to show, resize and store them on the site, and to show the listing in search results and when it's shared, for as long as the listing exists.
- Your listing, including the phone number you choose to show, is public.
Reports and removal
Anyone can report a listing. When enough different people report it, it's hidden until we review it. We may edit, hide or remove listings, and suspend accounts, that break these terms or put buyers at risk, without notice when the risk is serious.
Buying and selling safely
MotorHangar does not check sellers, cars, documents or payments. See the car in person, check the papers and the VIN, and never pay a deposit to someone you haven't met for a car you haven't seen. We're not responsible for the condition of a car, the accuracy of a listing, or any transaction between users.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to manufacturers, official bodies, the original source of a listing or other sites. We don't control them and their own terms apply.
Acceptable use
Don't scrape the site at a rate that harms it, try to break its security, send spam through its messages, or use it to collect other users' data. We block automated traffic that does.
Liability
MotorHangar is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, The01Company is not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by the data, by listings or by other users. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. If a change matters for people with an account, we'll email them before it applies. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Peru, without prejudice to the consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
