1. Clear any loan or road tax arrears Obrigatório por lei

   The vehicle must have no outstanding matters such as a financial loan or road tax arrears and must not be under financing. Cars with a Category A or B COE must be more than 3 months from registration. If you want to keep the plate number, retain it before the transfer.

2. Buyer inspects the car and checks LTA records Recomendado Comprador

   Physically inspect the car and check that make, model, engine and chassis numbers tally with LTA records. The seller can give an Access Code so the buyer can view the registration details through the 'Enquire Transfer Fee' e-service; an LTA-Authorised Inspection Centre or the Automobile Association of Singapore can check engine and chassis numbers for a fee.

3. Buyer arranges motor insurance Obrigatório por lei Comprador

   The car must have valid motor insurance in the buyer's name covering the full period of the car's valid road tax before the buyer can confirm the transfer.

4. Seller initiates the transfer on OneMotoring Obrigatório por lei

   After receiving the money (especially for cheque payments), the seller logs in with Singpass 2FA and uses 'Transfer Vehicle' with the vehicle number and the buyer's NRIC/FIN and name. Both get an SMS. Ownership must be transferred within 7 days of the car changing hands.

5. Buyer confirms the transfer and pays Obrigatório por lei Comprador

   The buyer logs in with Singpass 2FA and uses 'Confirm/Reject Vehicle Transfer', paying by card, eNETS or PayNow. Ownership passes immediately on confirmation. A Category A or B COE car 4 to 6 months from registration may also incur an additional levy.

   S$25 transfer fee as listed by LTA; check 'Enquire Transfer Fee' for the exact amount and any additional levy

6. Check the car is in the buyer's name Recomendado Vendedor e comprador

   After the transfer, the buyer can check on the OneMotoring dashboard that the car is registered in their name; LTA sends a letter and SMS to both seller and buyer. Remaining road tax and any rebates pass to the new owner.
