Vende tu auto en Noruega

Ownership changes are registered with Statens vegvesen (Norwegian Public Roads Administration): the seller submits a digital sales notification (salgsmelding) on Din side and the buyer approves it. The most important step is not handing over the car until every party has approved the notification, because your insurance and responsibility end only from that date. Publicar en MotorHangar es gratis y toma unos tres minutos; no necesitas la documentación para publicar.

Paso a paso

  1. Write a purchase contract with the buyer Recomendado Vendedor y comprador

Statens vegvesen advises the seller to sign a written purchase contract before starting the sales notification, using the free template from the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet).

  2. Remove personal plates, AutoPASS and parking apps Recomendado

If the car has a personal plate (personlig skilt), remove its link to the vehicle before selling. Remove the AutoPASS toll tag and cancel the AutoPASS agreement, and delete the car from parking apps so you are not billed for the buyer's tolls and parking.

  3. Check the buyer's ID and submit the sales notification Requerido por ley

Check each other's identification, then log in on Din side at vegvesen.no and submit the sales notification (salgsmelding) to the buyer. You need the buyer's name, national ID number (fødselsnummer) or D-number and mobile number, plus the same for any co-owners, or the organisation number if selling to a company.

  4. Buyer (and any co-owners) approve the notification Requerido por ley Comprador

The buyer receives an SMS and approves the sales notification on Din side; any co-owner must also approve. The ownership change is complete on the decision date (vedtaksdato), the day all parties have approved, and the seller gets an SMS confirmation.

  5. Hand over the car only after full approval Recomendado

Your insurance ends automatically the day before the decision date, and you remain responsible for keeping the car insured until then. Statens vegvesen advises not to hand over the vehicle until all parties have approved; the buyer must insure it from the decision date.

  6. Buyer pays the re-registration fee Requerido por ley Comprador

The buyer is responsible for the re-registration fee (omregistreringsavgift), paid to the Norwegian Tax Administration through Statens vegvesen's digital self-service. The vehicle cannot be used by the new owner until it has been re-registered.

Mantente seguro cuando los compradores se pongan en contacto contigo

  • Buyers should check for registered liens (heftelser) on the vehicle at Brønnøysundregistrene and confirm the vehicle has a valid EU roadworthiness control; expect serious buyers to ask.
  • Do not hand over the car or keys before the buyer has approved the sales notification: until the decision date the car is still yours and on your insurance.
