1. Let the buyer verify the logbook Recomendado Comprador

   The NTSA service portal has a public 'Verify Logbook' tool that checks a logbook's validity using the code from its QR code and the chassis number. Buyers are also advised to search the vehicle's records on the portal before paying.

   Seller and buyer each need to log in to serviceportal.ntsa.go.ke with their eCitizen credentials.

3. Initiate the transfer online Requerido por ley

   The seller starts the transfer of ownership for the vehicle on the portal. Each application gets an Application ID that both parties can use to track it; if rejected, the seller receives an SMS with the reasons and can resubmit at no extra cost.

4. Accept the transfer online Requerido por ley Comprador

   The buyer logs in and accepts the transfer request on the portal.

5. Collect the new logbook Requerido por ley Comprador

   After approval NTSA processes the logbook within about three working days. The new owner collects it by presenting the previous logbook and an original identification document.
