Venda seu carro em Irlanda

The Department of Transport records vehicle owners on the National Vehicle and Driver File (NVDF), and both seller and buyer are legally obliged to notify it of a change of ownership. The key step is recording the transfer, either online through the Online Change of Vehicle Ownership service or by both signing the back of the Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC), which the seller then posts. Publicar no MotorHangar é gratuito e leva cerca de três minutos; você não precisa dos documentos para publicar.

Passo a passo

  1. Let the buyer check the vehicle against the register Recomendado Comprador

Through the Online Change of Vehicle Ownership service the buyer can check the make/model, colour, motor tax status, test status, number of previous owners and whether the vehicle was imported before completing the purchase.

  2. Meet at a verifiable address and secure the payment Recomendado Vendedor e comprador

Gardaí advise sellers to accept a bank draft only if sure it is genuine, checking it with the issuing branch during banking hours, and to be wary of drafts offered in the evening or at weekends. Buyers are advised to meet at the seller's home and confirm the address matches the Vehicle Registration Certificate.

  3. Record the change of ownership online (vehicles from 1993) Obrigatório por lei Vendedor e comprador

Private (non-trade) owners can transfer the vehicle to another private owner entirely online and in real time, at the moment the car changes hands, at vehicleservices.gov.ie/cvo or via motortax.ie. Sellers and buyers are legally obliged to notify the Department of Transport of the change.

  4. Or sign the back of the VRC and post it Obrigatório por lei Vendedor e comprador

As the paper alternative, seller and buyer complete and sign the change of ownership section on the reverse of the Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC). It is the seller's responsibility to send the VRC to the Department of Transport (Shannon, Co. Clare) for updating. The Department then posts a new VRC to the new owner.

  5. Don't hand the VRC to the buyer to post Recomendado

If the owner details are not updated, the seller remains responsible for charges including motor tax, toll charges and fines. Sending the forms is the seller's job: do not give the VRC to the new owner.
