Sælg din bil i Kroatien

The change of ownership is registered at a vehicle technical inspection station (stanica za tehnički pregled, STP), which has handled vehicle registration since 1 January 2018; the buyer registers the car in their name with the sales contract and the vehicle documents. The most important step for the seller is handing over a proper sales contract and the registration documents, and agreeing whether the insurance policy is assigned to the buyer. Opslag på MotorHangar er gratis og tager omkring tre minutter; du behøver ikke papirarbejdet for at publicere.

Trin for trin

  1. Show the buyer your ID and the car's documents Anbefalet

The Government advises buyers to check that the name on the registration certificate (prometna dozvola) matches the seller's ID card, that the chassis number and year match the documents, and to check for encumbrances on the vehicle through FINA. Expect a careful buyer to ask for all of this.

  2. Sign a sales contract Påkrævet ved lov Sælger og køber

Proof of ownership for the new owner can be a sales or gift contract (kupoprodajni ili darovni ugovor), a purchase invoice or a court decision; between private persons this is the sales contract.

  3. Agree on the insurance policy Påkrævet ved lov Sælger og køber

If the car has a valid registration certificate, the new owner may use the previous owner's compulsory motor liability policy until it expires, but only if the seller assigns the rights and obligations of the policy to the buyer; otherwise the buyer must take out a new policy. The policy must be presented in writing for the change of ownership.

The buyer brings proof of ownership, the registration certificate and vehicle booklet, proof of roadworthiness, proof of paid obligations and an ID card or passport. The procedure ends when the new owner is entered in the register and the registration certificate is validated.

  5. Buyer pays the administrative fee on used-car acquisition Påkrævet ved lov Køber

When registering a used car in the new owner's name, the acquirer pays an administrative fee (upravna pristojba) if no VAT was paid on the sale, calculated by engine power in kW and the car's age; it is not charged if it is 1.99 EUR or less. The annual road motor vehicle tax is not paid again by the new owner if it was already assessed to the previous owner that year.
