Paso a paso

1. Sign the sale declaration and have your signature legalised Requerido por ley

   Fill in the official sale declaration (تصريح بالبيع) with your and the buyer's details and the vehicle's particulars. Your signature and left index fingerprint must be certified by a civil-status officer, at any commune even if you do not live there. Any form with additions or crossings-out is invalid.

2. Cross out and hand over the registration card Requerido por ley

   The buyer's file must include the old registration card crossed out (بطاقة ترقيم مشطب عليها), so the seller strikes it through and hands it over with the declaration.

3. Get a control card if the car changes wilaya Requerido por ley Comprador

   If the vehicle is being transferred from one wilaya to another, the registration file must also include the control card (بطاقة المراقبة).

4. Pay the fiscal stamp and any transaction tax Requerido por ley Comprador

   The file includes the fiscal stamp duty (رسم الطابع الجبائي) and, for vehicles subject to it, the receipt for the transaction tax (رسم المعاملة).

5. Apply for the new registration card at the commune Requerido por ley Comprador

   The buyer files the registration application form with the documents at the commune of their place of residence and collects the new card the same day, signing and fingerprinting a dedicated register. The form states the buyer must declare the transfer within one month of the old card being crossed out, or face a fine.
