1. Arrange insurance in the buyer's name Inahitajika kisheria Mnunuzi

   The transfer form asks for the insurer, policy number and expiry date, and the insurance certificate must expire more than three months after the transfer date. The seller's policy does not pass to the buyer.

2. Fill in and sign the transfer form TOM 9Γ Inahitajika kisheria Mnunuzi na muuza

   Seller and buyer complete the form 'Μεταβίβαση Ιδιοκτησίας Μηχανοκίνητου Οχήματος' in capital letters, with vehicle, seller and buyer details, and both sign it. The form must be clean: forms with errors, corrections or correction fluid are not accepted.

3. Have the signatures certified where needed Inapendekezwa Mnunuzi na muuza

   The form has boxes where a community leader (Κοινοτάρχης) or a certifying officer certifies the authenticity of the seller's and the buyer's signatures, for example when a party does not sign in front of the RTD.

4. Complete the vehicle recall check Inahitajika kisheria Mnunuzi

   Under EU Regulation 2018/858, a transfer requires recall paperwork: either a certificate of no pending recalls from the manufacturer's distributor (TOM 369) or a declaration signed by the buyer that the recall checks were done (TOM 371).

5. Submit the transfer and pay the fee Inahitajika kisheria Mnunuzi na muuza

   Hand in the signed TOM 9Γ with the vehicle's registration certificate and the insurance certificate; the RTD records the transfer and charges a transfer fee (amount not published on the form).

• Check that the seller's name matches the registration certificate and that the chassis number matches the car.
• Sign the transfer form on the same day the payment is made, so the seller does not keep receiving road-tax and offence notices for a car already sold.
