   Seller and buyer sign a contrat de cession (certificat de transfert de propriété) and have it legalised by the competent authority. If the carte grise is not in the seller's name, a court document (acte de justice) is required.

2. Hand over the carte grise, sticker and inspection certificate Requerido por ley

   The buyer needs the original carte grise (plus a legible copy), a valid vignette (road tax sticker) and a valid technical inspection certificate (visite technique), so make sure they are current before selling.

   An extrait de carte grise is among the documents required for the mutation.

4. Apply for the mutation at a regional directorate (CGI) Requerido por ley Comprador

   The new owner submits the file with their ID at any regional directorate (Centre de Gestion Intégrée). The new carte grise is issued in one day.

   Car under 8 CV: 20,000 FCFA; 8–15 CV: 25,000 FCFA; 16 CV and over: 30,000 FCFA; motorbike: 10,000 FCFA
