1. Clear fines, claims and any finance on the car Requerido por ley

   All traffic fines, contraventions and accident claims on the vehicle must be settled, and it cannot be under a restriction such as seizure or unpaid installments. If the car is financed, get a clearance certificate from the finance company.

2. Check the registration is valid and insure the car in the buyer's name Requerido por ley Vendedor y comprador

   The vehicle's registration must be valid, and the buyer needs civil liability insurance that covers the validity period of the registration certificate.

3. Book an appointment in the Mawaeid app Requerido por ley Vendedor y comprador

   The service is in person only. Book an appointment through the government Appointment System app (Mawaeid) at the General Directorate of Traffic or one of its service centers (Riffa main branch, Wadi AlSail Mall, Al Dana Mall, Muharraq Security Complex).

4. Sign the transfer form before a traffic officer Requerido por ley Vendedor y comprador

   Seller and buyer sign Form No. (1) in front of a traffic officer. If one party is absent, the signature is matched against records or ID, and the Directorate may reject the request if signatures don't match or it does not trust the representative.

5. Pay the fee and receive the new ownership certificate Requerido por ley Comprador

   Staff verify the documents and conditions, then the fee is paid by debit card, credit card or cash at a TAM kiosk. Processing takes one working day.

   16 BHD in total (listed as 6 BHD + 10 BHD ownership certificate fees)
