Vende tu auto en Emiratos Árabes Unidos

Ownership is transferred by the traffic authority of the emirate where the car is registered (RTA in Dubai, ITC/TAMM in Abu Dhabi, the federal Ministry of Interior system elsewhere). Before the transfer the seller must clear all traffic fines and any bank mortgage, and the car needs a passed technical inspection and insurance. Publicar en MotorHangar es gratis y toma unos tres minutos; no necesitas la documentación para publicar.

Paso a paso

  1. Pay all traffic fines Requerido por ley

Unpaid traffic fines must be settled before ownership can change – in Dubai this includes fines issued in other emirates. If the registration has expired, the non-renewal fine must also be paid.

  2. Clear any car loan and release the mortgage Requerido por ley

A financed car is mortgaged to the bank; an electronic mortgage release is required before the transfer.

  3. Get the technical inspection passed Requerido por ley

Used vehicles must pass a technical inspection at an authorised testing centre (only vehicles produced in the last three years are exempt from the registration test). The result is recorded electronically.

  4. Buyer arranges insurance Requerido por ley Comprador

Electronic insurance from an authorised insurer is required to register the car in the buyer's name.

  5. Start the transfer and sign the sale agreement Requerido por ley Vendedor y comprador

In Dubai the seller starts 'Change Ownership' on the RTA website/app (UAE Pass) or at a Customer Happiness Centre, enters the buyer's details, and both sign the online Sale and Purchase Agreement, which is valid for 14 days. In Abu Dhabi the request is made on TAMM and the buyer confirms with an OTP. Other emirates use the Ministry of Interior system.

Dubai: AED 350 transfer (light vehicle) + AED 50 sale agreement + AED 20 Knowledge & Innovation, plus a plate fee by plate type

  6. Hand over the plates and let the buyer register Requerido por ley Vendedor y comprador

In Dubai the seller hands over the plates at a centre or by delivery within 14 days of paying the fees; ownership passes to the buyer once the plates are submitted, and the buyer completes registration at a service centre.

Mantente seguro cuando los compradores se pongan en contacto contigo

  • Until ownership has actually moved, fines and liabilities stay on the registered owner – in Dubai ownership passes only when the plates are handed over, so complete the transfer the same day you hand over the car.
  • Do not change anything in the signed Dubai Sale and Purchase Agreement: any change after signing voids the transaction.
