40TIRE SIZE 75R16, BRIDGESTONE V-STEEL RB215, IS THE BRANDED AND EXACT TIRE ON THE TRUCK WHEN ON 05/23/2026 DRIVING NORMALLY DOWN A LAS VEGAS RURAL ONE-WAY NEIGHBORHOOD STREET I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ONE-WAY STREET (7200 PIRATES COVE) WHERE THERE ARE PARKED VEHICLES ALONG THE SIDES OF STREET FROM RESIDENTS ETC..... ON BOTH SIDES OF STREET IN VERY CLOSE PROXIMITY. AND AS I WAS PASSING THE SMALL RESIDENTIAL INTERSECTION W/ NO STOP SIGNS IN PLACE, THE TIRE IS EITHER SLIICED BY SHARP OBJECT IIN THE STREET OR JUST BLOWN FROM MANUFACTURER DEFECT, HEAT, OR THE LIKES, ANYWAY IT BLOWS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK DIRECTLY BESIDE A VEHICLE PARKED ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE HEADING EASTBOUND, WHEN IT BLOWS THE VEHICLE DROPS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE LOSES CENTER OF CONTROL AND DESPITE EFFORTS TO AVOID, IT CAUSES MY COLLISION WITH THE PARKED CAR ON THE RIGHT, BECAUSE IT IMMEDIATELY WENT FLAT TO RIM, AND I WAS COLLIDED INTO, THE REAR-END OF A UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE WHICH THEN COLLIDED SLIGHTLY WITH VEHICLE IN FRONT OF IT WHICH LIGHTLY REAR-ENDED A THIRD PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF IT ALSO UNOCCUPIED AND PARKED. AND THE AIRBAG THEN DEPLOYED WITHIN THE VEHICLE ON IMPACT. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN WORST OUTCOMES, MY DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURIES, OR SOMEONE ELSES INJURIES. AND THIS HAPPENED WITH NO WARNING PRIOR TIRE ISUES OR PUNCTURES AND VERY LIMITED TREAD USE OR TIRE PROLONGED ROAD EXPOSURES AND OTHER WEAR AND TEAR RELATED ACTIONS/ACTIVITIES. SO IM ISSUING HIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE THAT IS A RATHER SERIOUS DEFECT IF INDEED THE TIRE AND ITS MODEL, BRAND AND MANUFACTURER HAVE A POSSIBLE RECALL AND PRODUCT DEFECT ON IT'S TIRES THAT COULD BLOW ANYTIME, ANYWHER ON IT'S OWN THATS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE TO BE USING THE TIRES FOR VEHICLE OPERATION. THEY SHOULD BE PULLED FROM THE PLACES BEING SOLD AT PROMPTLY DISPOSED OF AND NEW REPLACEMENTS FOR AFFECTED DRIVERS
While driving down a 50 mph roadway there was a line of cars slowing for a vehicle to make a turn. When gently pushing the brakes to slow down, brake went clear to the floor and could not slow down. Truck was driven into the ditch to avoid rear-ending vehicles. This happened immediately without warning, all braking prior to this incident was normal. When taken to our mechanic, they advised the brake lines underneath were notorious for rusting out and failing, new stainless steel lines were then installed to correct the problem.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 equipped with Prinx Tires, Tire Line: High Country, Tire Size: 245/75/R16, DOT Number: 04N18HTPC1323. The contact had the tires rotated by an independent mechanic. Upon inspection of the tires, the contact discovered cracks along the base of the tire treads on all four tires. The contact notified the mechanic about the defect and was given a credit for the remaining mileage on the tires warranty. The contact notified the manufacturer about the failure through voicemail and email; however, the contact never received a response. The contact stated that the four tires were replaced. The tire failure mileage was 21,942. The vehicle failure mileage was 342,422.
My heater started to shut off then I’d turn it off then turn it back on then it’d come back on again. That went on for a few days. Started my truck in the morning and let it warm up for a few moments when I hear truck is on fire. The fire was in the cab of the truck. It was investigated and they said fire started in the right side of the dash which is where the faulty part is from what I’ve learned about other Chevy trucks same make model and year as my truck
Instrument panel stopped working. Speedometer, fuel gauge and ammeter not working.
The component that failed according to the Chevrolet dealer is the "transfer case pump clips", which came loose inside the transfer case and wore a hole through the case causing the oil to come out. If I would not have noticed the oil on the back of my truck, I could have continued to drive the truck, which could have caused the transfer case gears to lock up the front and rear axles while driving and could have caused me to wreck, causing injury to myself, my family or someone else. I marked the area of the leak with a sharpie as depicted in the photos.
When starting vehicle , after initial dash lights times out, I now get an AIRBAG 9malfunction light). Tried resetting, did not work. Now, every time I start the engine, the comes on and stays on.
The vehicle was being driven in a parking lot, fortunately, when there was a loud snapping noise that resulted in the total loss of steering control. The vehicle was moving at about 5 MPH at time of the incident. 10 minutes prior, it was being driven on the Freeway at 60 to 65 MPH. In the parking lot, at the time of the steering failure, it was put into Park, ignition was turned off and a Tow service was called to tow vehicle home. The next day, I (the owner) inspected the steering system and found the reason it failed. A threaded connection on the "Pitman Arm" had snapped in half, terminating the connection between the steering column and the center link, causing catastrophic failure of steering system. The vehicle was transported to a repair facility where my diagnosis was confirmed. The Pitman Arm was replaced, at a cost of about $600.00 and returned to service. There were no warning signs, that I was aware of, prior to the component failure. In my opening sentence, I use the term "fortunately" , which truly is an understatement . Had the incident occurred 10 minutes earlier while on the freeway or if it hadn't occurred in a parking lot at a relatively low speed, I don't even like to think about the death, injury and damage that would have occurred.
When I try and use my left turn signal the hazard lights turn on!! Read numerous instances of this problem online with no solutions! A gentleman online referred me to turn this in to you(nhtsa.gov). The problem is ongoing!!
Hydroboost valve pump shows a recall.,and it's not working properly
I had to replace the replace the housing on my transfer case as it wore a hole in and was leaking. At a cost of 1200 dollars due to myself catching it early as later with a fully disabled case would have been 2600 dollars. My mechanic who deals in transmission repairs told me this a very common problem for Chevy trucks from 1999 to 2006. He claimed he had done 7 transfer cases in one week and was actually replacing a fully wrecked one for 2600 dollars as I brought mine in to be worked on . It had worn a hole through the transfer case and was leaking. As this seems to be a serious defect . I feel it should have been under a recall and reimbursement should be in order for those who paid out of pocket for repairs. My mechanic also stated that he has replaced them at 35, 000 miles and on up. No rhyme or reason to when they fail or leak.
The undercarriage or frame of our recent purchase of our 2003 used chevrolet k1500 silverado was discovered recently after purchase to be rusted through and through and chipping off day by day. A private master mechanic has looked the truck over and said that it was not safe to drive. Upon further investigating, the panels that hold up the roof of the truck underneath the interior panels are rusting through and through to the point of breaking. Dealership we bought it from just shrugged their shoulders and said basically oh well, it was sold as is. under the truck on the frame where the wheels are attached, forgive my descriptions but im no mechanic, looks like they can break off at any minute. we have ony about 3/4 of a front and back bumper we later discovered, and the roof of the truck looks as if it had rusted and messed up beause someone before us put plaster to redo the roof of the truck. im scared to put my mother in law in this truck to go anywhere because if it got into a wreck... it would be devestating for everyone. truck has been in a wreck before. pictures and truck is available for inspection upon request,
My truck is a older model Chevrolet Silverado pickup HD the problem is it say engine power reduced. I have had it worked on a few times and keeps reducing if engine power. Can you tell me if there is a recall on this issue or at one point there was a recall? I have had the truck almost 2 years any info would be appreciated. I bought the truck from an individual.

UNKNOWN. I went out to the to go somewhere, got in and noticed several big cracks.
In the middle of the taxiway, while I was traveling my truck turned off while it was running and did not turn on again, putting my safety at risk by being in the middle of the taxiway, after several minutes the truck was able to be removed from the road, then I was able to investigate that I am not the only one that the same thing has happened to him, there is no Safety Recall in this regard, the GM fabric is aware of these cases but only wrote a TSB, it was diagnosed with the scanner and it gave code U1800, before the event there were no lights warning but after the event there is a check engine light on.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the power steering failed causing the steering wheel to become hard to maneuver. The contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the hydro boost area when the brake pedal or accelerator pedal were depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the intermediate shaft was faulty. The intermediate shaft was replaced however, the failure recurred. The contact requested the dealer to replace the power steering pump but the dealer informed the contact that the failure was caused by the power steering pump. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 115,000.
I was driving in normal conditions around 45 mph with the air conditioner on high. Smoke starts pouring out from underneath the dash on the passenger side and once I get stopped the blower motor resistor had caught fire. I was able to put the fire out myself no incident report was filed. It caused damage to my dash but I was able to extinguish it rather quickly to avoid further damage. I just bought this pick up for my 17-year-old son and if he had of been driving things could’ve been a lot worse especially if his reaction time is any slower than mine.
My engine has been giving me lean condition codes p0171, p0174 and truck is lacking performance really bad and coolant problems too please message me back
IGNITION WILL NOT INTERMITTENTLY START VEHICLE. DASH LIGHTS COME ON
RUSTED OUT AND LEAKING BRAKE LINES AND FUEL LINES UNDER THE DRIVERSIDE DOOR WHERE THEY ARE ATTACHED TO THE FRAME.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER- THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS IS THE SPEEDOMETER IF I HIT A BUMP THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING MY TRUCK SOMETIMES DIES ON ME GOING DOWN THE ROADS, I RECENTLY TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND TOLD ME IT'S A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM BUT SINCE MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WASNT WORKING COULD NOT NARROW IT DOWN.. WINDSHIELD- FRONT MAKES A WHISTLE SOUND WHEN YOUR GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IT'S BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT.. BATTERY- BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AND SOMETHING KEEPS DRAINING IT SOMETIMES CAUSING IT TO HAVE HESITATION AND BOGS OUT.
NEW OPTIMA RED TOP KEEPS DRAINING. SECOND NEW BATTERY IN A MONTH. DEAD OVER NIGHT. I'VE READ THERE'S A RECALL ON OTHER VINS. YET MINE IS DOING THE SAME BATTERY DRAIN THING. LEFT MY WIFE AT MCDONALD'S TODAY HIGH AND DRY! WTF! DON'T MAKE ME GET A FORD!
1) BRAKE LINE RUSTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. 2) A NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED ONLY TO BE TOTALLY DEAD WITHIN 1 WEEK 3) ALTERNATOR REPLACED AS THAT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE PROBLEM 4) FINALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND IT IS THE ABS SYSTEM AS THE MODULATOR / PUMP FOR THIS SYSTEM WOULD CONTINUALLY RUN EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF.
AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM DOWNTOWN SUDDENLY MY TRUCK LOST POWER AND I HAD TO LIMP HOME ,FRIEND CHECKED TRUCK AND FOUND TROUBLE CODE P2135 REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND ALSO SAID FOR ME TO CHECK IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM .
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER WILL STOP WORKING. NO GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER, OR TACHOMETER. USUALLY OCCURS AFTER VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. KNOW OF SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVING/HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR MODEL. SOMETIMES THE CLUSTER WILL BECOME ACTIVE AGAIN WHILE DRIVING, BUT USUALLY DOESN'T.
BRIGHT LITE INDICATOR LITE COMES ON DASH WITH NO KEY IN IGNITION, KILLS BATTERY OVER NITE. GAS GAUGE IN DASH DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK, TRUCK HAS TO GET MOVING, SOMETIMES RIGHT AWAY AND SOMETIMES A LITTLE LONGER. HAD TO REPLACE MY THROTTLE BODY CONTROL A COUPLE MONTHS PRIOR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS CHANGING THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED OIL LEAKING WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO VISUALLY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOLZ MOTORS (5961 S 108TH ST, HALES CORNERS, WI 53130, (414) 377-3584) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.*DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LINDSAY CHEVROLET (5605 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, WOODBRIDGE, VA 22191, (571) 200-4754) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FRACTURED BRAKE LINE AND THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT REPAIRED A PORTION OF THE BRAKE LINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,799.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING 2 MPH IN A PARKING LOT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE LOW BRAKE FLUID INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LINDSAY BUICK GMC (250 W SHIRLEY AVE, WARRENTON, VA 20186, (540) 987-2082) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,703.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT NOTICED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED AND FAILED, WHICH CAUSED BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK OUT. THE BRAKE LINES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,900.
I BOUGHT A 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500HD 15 YEARS AGO AND GAVE IT TO MY 16 YEAR OLD SON. RECENTLY WE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKES AND STEERING WAS ACTING FUNNY AND MAKING A NOISE, SO WE REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND HOSES. THE PROBLEM ONLY STARTED GETTING WORSE. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND AN OLD RECALL OR NOTICE RELATED TO THE HYDRO-BOOST RELIEF VALVE THAT WAS DEFECTED BECAUSE OF O-RING FAILURE. JUST SEARCHING THE VEHICLE WILL SHOW SEVERAL SITES REVEALING THE PROBLEM. THE NADA SITE GOES INTO MORE DETAIL ON THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE PARKED THE TRUCK UNTIL A DECISION IS MADE. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE HAS TROUBLE WHEN STEERING AND LOOSES BRAKING.
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE PEGGED OUT AND NOT WORKING ALSO GEAR SELECTOR LIGHT NOT WORKING CAN'T TELL WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN
TAKATA RECALL. WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, TRUCK SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, WHILE I WAS TURNING.I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO START IT BUT NOTHING. I BELIEVED IT TO BE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND HAD IT TOWED TO A MUFFLER SHOP. AFTER FIXING THE PROBLEM TRUCK STILL WOULD NOT CRANK. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED ONCE AGAIN TO MY RESIDENCE. BEFORE THIS I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE 2-3 ATTEMPTS TO CRANK THE TRUCK BEFORE IT WOULD START. ALSO PRIOR TO THIS I NOTICED I HAVE NOT BEEN GETTING AS GOOD OF GAS MILEAGE AS I SHOULD AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AS IT SHOULD. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND SEEN A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH MY SAME MODEL TRUCK HAVE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THEIR FUEL PUMP.
THE REAR FUEL TANK STRAP HOLDING THE FUEL TANK TO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE HAS RUSTED/CORRODED AND FAILED. THE RESULT WAS THE TANK STRAP SEPARATING FROM THE PORTION NEAR WHERE THE STRAP BOLTS TO THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON PRIMARY CITY ROADS DURING THIS ISSUE. THE SEPARATED FUEL TANK STRAP THEN RUBBED AGAINST THE REAR PORTION OF THE DRIVE SHAFT NEAR THE REAR AXLE HOUSING. THIS CAUSED IT TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE AND ENTER THE ROADWAY. AFTER THE RETAINING STRAP FAILED, THE REAR PORTION OF THE FUEL TANK WAS THEN HANGING DANGEROUSLY LOW TOWARDS THE ROADWAY.
BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS SLOWLY WITH THE BATTERY RUNNING OUT BECAUSE SOMETHING IS STILL RUNNING IN THE VEHICLE BUT EVERYTHING IS OFF. THE GAS GAUGE GEAR CONTROL LIGHTING ON THE PANEL DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT LOCK SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING WAS CHECKED BY A MECHANIC AND HE ADDRESS THAT SOMETHING IS NOT CONSTANT RUNNING EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING IS TURNED OFF THAT CAUSE THE BATTERY TO RUN DOWN WHEN IT IS OFF. ALSO THE LIGHTS DON'T LIGHT ON THE RIGHT SIDE STAYS ON AND NEVER GOES OFF WHEN RUNNING THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED THIS ON A LOT OF 2500 CHEVY TRUCKS. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN TO BE CHECK. PLEASE HELP US TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING BACK FROM YOU SUN.
BRAKE LINE FAILURE IN SEVERAL PLACES. WAS UNDER VEHICLE PERFORMING AN OIL CHANGE. NOTICED FLUID ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL TANK. INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THE REAR MOST HARD BRAKE LINE LEAKING. CONTINUED TO INSPECT ALL HARD LINES AND FOUND SEVERAL AREAS WHERE LEAKS WERE PRESENT. REMOVED VEHICLE FROM USE AND STARTED REPLACING ALL HARD BRAKE LINES. NEW LINES ARE STAINLESS STEEL THUS I SHOULD NEVER RUN INTO THIS ISSUE AGAIN. GM SHOULD HAVE USED STAINLESS STEEL LINES IN THE FIRST PLACE RATHER THAN PLAIN STEEL LINES. THE ORIGINAL BRAKES LINES BROKE LIKE TWIGS WHEN I BENT THEM TO THROW THEM AWAY. I HAVE NEVER SEEN BRAKE LINES IN THIS TYPE OF CONDITION ON A VEHICLE WITH 130,000 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED BRAKE LINE FAILURE ON A VEHICLE LIKE THE CHEVY SILVERADO. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO FORCE GM TO PERFORM A RECALL AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.
